Helping tradespeople and apprentices find local work

As the council's economic growth and regeneration company, InvestSK welcomes the launch of Work Radar as a new supply chain tool to help drive recovery of the construction sector in South Kesteven. It's a great way of connecting local firms with new contracts, and putting skilled tradespeople in front of new employment opportunities.

As a Social Enterprise having access to Work Radar is a fantastic tool for us here. We sometimes miss opportunities on projects as we do not find out about them until the trade we offer has been procured. Having a platform which sends various forms of notifications to us, in a very simple easy to use format, makes our lives that bit easier! I have found the site to be very straight forward and user friendly, and when I had a couple of questions about using the site, the support team responded very quickly indeed. The nature of my trade often means my work takes me all over the UK. By joining Work Radar, I can view projects within a forty-mile radius of a location I choose and find work more locally to me. I can then decide which projects I wish to register my interest to work on, finding projects from Main Contractors I may not have been aware of previously.

Due to covid-19 and recently being laid off from my previous employer I was looking for new ways of seeking construction work on larger projects I came across the Local Supply Chain website and noticed that they have introduced a new service called 'Work Radar' a scheme that connects a 'Trades Person' like myself to local businesses for local projects The service is free, will help me promote my skill sets and could gain me more work. The registration process is very quick and easy, I would recommend that anyone searching for work register.
