Southern Construction Frameworks join Local Supply Chain

LSC is an online collaborative platform designed to bring buyers and suppliers together. Selected by a competitive exercise to work alongside SCF we aim to open-up the barriers to entry and allow quick and easier engagement of sub-contractors from main contractors and clients.

LSC is free for subcontractors to join, allowing them to create profiles and boost their visibility to clients therefore receiving more enquiries and winning more awards. In return, clients have visibility over projects saving subcontractors time and resources having to supply project reports and statistics.

SCF (Southern Construction Framework) offers public sector organisations throughout the South of England and London, end to end support for construction projects and are working with Local Supply Chain to ensure transparent opportunities for a wider range of suppliers when engaging on public sector spend projects.

By working together, SCF And LSC aim to achieve the following:

  • Target social value efforts
  • Reward ethical conduct
  • Give employment and skills a local focus
  • Improve quality standards and training throughout the supply chain
  • Support better project delivery via direct relationships with local suppliers

SCF say: “At SCF We’re delighted to be working with LSC to provide even greater value for money to the public sector. Never has it been so important for clients to make informed, ethical decisions within their supply chains, and this partnership will help the framework to reach new levels of collaboration and transparency, working with SCF’s 11 class-leading main contractors.SCF’s unique integrated team approach already provides demonstrable benefits to our Public Sector clients and by taking advantage of LSCs supply chain tendering platform aims to further enhance these benefits- LSC shares SCF’s desire to nurture an innovative and engaged supply chain marketplace, giving them the tools to work together to provide a resilient and highly skilled workforce. The approach ensures transparent opportunities for a wider range of suppliers, and provides a platform to share impartial specialist advice, at the right time in the project’s life to make a real difference. SCF has an ethos of continuous improvement, this is demonstrated by its class-leading performance figures and the supply chain portal is a key milestone in the evolution of its 13-year success story.”

Richard Ratcliffe (Local Supply Chain CEO) says: “Having spent years in construction procurement, I wanted to create a system that makes it fair and easy for subcontractors, micro businesses and SMEs to win work easily from major clients and contractors. It was also important to me to me that the subcontractors were able to access these workflows without high sign up fees. By working with SCF, I am confident that we will be able to open the door for many suppliers and subcontractors to have access to bigger projects from a whole range of clients”
