Sustainable Sustainability
This is me…starting the year as I mean to go… Doing my bit to make a difference in the world we have on loan from the next generation, and many more generations to come. This is only temporary though, I…
Local Supply Chain (LSC) is more than a supply chain management and procurement platform for tier one contractors, it’s also completely free for subcontractors too and, over the years, we have opened up more and more opportunity across the UK.
Subcontractors can register their business on LSC and create a profile to promote their services. Once a profile has been created, it can be viewed by all contractors and clients on LSC, as well as shared with external organisations you they be looking to work with. LSC is then the one place for subcontractors to hold all information about their business and services offered. Within the profile contractors can also upload business documentation and certifications including SSIP or PAS91, trade specific certifications such as ISO9001 or Working at Heights. The profile also has the option to include insurances, financials, locations of work & offices, key contacts and much more information to share with the buyers on LSC.
These buyers include organisations such as GF Tomlinson, Morgan Sindall, Sanctuary Housing, Henry Boot, Fortem Solutions, Lindum, Brymor, Manchester & Cheshire Construction, as well as all those contractors who are a part of the SCF Construct Framework which includes Willmott Dixon, BAM, Gallifordtry, Kier, Wates, MIDAS, Mace, Sir Robert McAlpine & ISG.
With so many of the UK’s largest construction companies using LSC to source, manage and engage suppliers, send expressions of interest, tenders and make awards through the system, it is not surprising to see the snowball effect that collaboration is having.
The last 12 months has seen an average of over £1m a day awarded in the platform and over £2bn of projects and procurements issued to subcontractors. The more subcontractors registered, and the more main contractors and clients, the more opportunity for all involved.
At LSC, we are committed to opening up opportunities across the built environment. We know how difficult it can be to engage with some of the UKs largest contractors, and being registered on the platform, with a lot of information in your profile can paly a huge part in overcoming these barriers.
We expect to see in excess of £6bn of opportunity posted through LSC in the coming 12 months and are therefore encouraging and actively working with contractors of all sizes to help get their profiles up to date, with maximum visibility to the buyers actively using LSC.
Whether you’re a supplier and are new to LSC, or would like a hand in making the most of the platform, please feel free to contact our support teams on 0800 197 6958.
If you are a main contractor and looking to win more tenders, align to public sectors needs and requirements whilst at the same time streamline your internal processes and gain maximum scores on social value within tenders, you too can contact our support team who will be more than happy to offer a high-level demonstration.
We have a proven track record, and now more than ever, we are required to collaborate in order to help the Built Environment bounce back!
